PM Vishwakarma Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair 2026 Held at Eco Park Leh to Boost Local Artisans

Leh: The PM Vishwakarma Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair 2026 was successfully organised at Eco Park, Leh by the MSME-Development & Nucleus Cell (MSME-DNC), Leh under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, in association with the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, UT Ladakh.

The event aimed to promote local craftsmanship and strengthen entrepreneurship under the flagship PM Vishwakarma Scheme of the Government of India.

Platform for Artisans and Entrepreneurs

Joint Director, MSME-DNC Leh, Shri Amit Kumar Tamaria delivered the welcome address, while Assistant Director Shri Rajesh Kumar presented the vote of thanks.

The exhibition provided a vibrant platform for artisans, traditional workers, and scheme beneficiaries to showcase their products, connect with buyers, and explore new market opportunities.

Artisans representing various traditional trades displayed a diverse range of locally crafted products, highlighting Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage and skilled workmanship. The trade fair enabled direct interaction between producers and consumers, helping create business linkages and enhance visibility for locally manufactured goods.

Government’s Commitment to MSME Growth

Director Industries & Commerce, Ladakh, Shri Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, emphasized the Government’s commitment to strengthening the MSME ecosystem in Ladakh.

He highlighted initiatives under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, including:

  • Financial assistance
  • Skill upgradation
  • Modern toolkits
  • Marketing support

These measures aim to empower traditional artisans and enhance sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Strong Participation from Stakeholders

The exhibition witnessed enthusiastic participation from artisans, entrepreneurs, self-help groups, cultural troupes, and members of the public.

The programme was attended by General Manager, District Industries Centre Leh, AG Zargar; Convenor UTLBC, Tsering Wangmo; Assistant Directors of Handloom and Handicrafts, Leh; Manager IPPB, Jagdish; officials from the Industries Department; and numerous local stakeholders.

Promoting Self-Reliance and Sustainable Development

The event celebrated the spirit of self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and collaborative growth in the Union Territory of Ladakh.

Organisers expressed gratitude to participating artisans, departments, and stakeholders for making the exhibition a success and reaffirmed their commitment to organising similar initiatives to empower traditional craftsmen and promote local industries.

The PM Vishwakarma Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair 2026 marks another step toward strengthening Ladakh’s MSME sector and preserving its traditional crafts while expanding market access at regional and national levels.
