Special Facilities Arranged for Devotees in Leh

The arrangements were made at Leh Gate, where groups of prostrators concluded their spiritual journey, and near the historic Tsemo Monastery.

Devotees performing Gochaks were provided refreshments and assistance as a gesture of appreciation for their devotion, perseverance, and spiritual commitment during the holy occasion.

LG Emphasises Importance of Seva and Compassion

In his message, Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta highlighted the spiritual significance of alms and “Seva Daan” (selfless service), stating that such acts reflect the core teachings of Gautama Buddha.

He said that distributing refreshments to devotees is not merely hospitality but a humble offering rooted in compassion, charity and collective responsibility. According to the LG, acts of generosity help nurture empathy, strengthen social harmony, and promote unity within communities.

Youth Urged to Follow Teachings of Buddha

The Lieutenant Governor also urged the people of Ladakh—particularly the youth—to adopt the teachings of Buddha in their daily lives to promote peace, harmony and brotherhood.

He stressed that Buddha’s message of non-violence, mutual respect and coexistence remains highly relevant in today’s world, which continues to face various social and global challenges.
