BJP Announces Three More Contenders for 2024 Lok Sabha election

Date:

In a significant development ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its sixth list of candidates, introducing three new contenders into the electoral fray. This latest announcement has brought the total number of finalized BJP candidates to 401 for the 543 Lok Sabha seats, signaling the party’s readiness for the upcoming polls.

The sixth list includes notable changes, such as the introduction of Indu Devi Jatav, who will contest from the SC-reserved seat of Karauli-Dholpur in Rajasthan. Alongside her, Kanhaiya Lal Meena has been fielded from Dausa, another constituency in Rajasthan. The third candidate, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh, has been slated to represent the party in the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha Constituency.

This strategic move by the BJP comes after the party’s fifth list, which included high-profile names such as Naveen Jindal and actor Kangana Ranaut, who were fielded from Kurukshetra and Mandi, respectively. The sixth list has also seen the dropping of Union minister Ashwini Choubey from the Buxar constituency in Bihar, a decision that has stirred discussions among political analysts.

The BJP’s meticulous candidate selection process reflects its commitment to a diverse representation, aiming to bolster its position across various states. With the Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be conducted in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, the party’s latest list is a clear indication of its strategic placements and electoral ambitions.

As the nation gears up for one of the most anticipated electoral battles, the BJP’s candidate list will be a critical factor in shaping the political landscape. The counting of votes is set for June 4, and with each party finalizing their best contenders, the stage is set for a fiercely competitive race to the parliament.
