PM Modi’s Bold Remarks on Rahul Gandhi’s Candidature from Raebareli

Date:

WEST BENGAL – Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a series of bold remarks on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s decision to contest from Raebareli. The Prime Minister did not mince words as he addressed a public gathering in Bardhaman-Durgapur, West Bengal.

“I had already said in the Parliament that their (Congress) biggest leader will not dare to fight elections and she will run away. She ran away to Rajasthan and came to the Rajya Sabha,” Modi said, referring to a senior Congress leader.

The Prime Minister further predicted the electoral fate of Rahul Gandhi, who he referred to as ‘Shehzada’. “I had already said that the Shehzada was going to lose in Wayanad. I had said that as soon as the polling was completed in Wayanad, he would start looking for another seat,” he added.

Modi also took a dig at Gandhi’s decision to contest from Raebareli, a constituency traditionally held by the Gandhi family. “He is so scared of Amethi that he is running towards Raebareli,” Modi said, referring to the two constituencies that have been strongholds of the Gandhi family.

In a final remark that drew cheers from the crowd, Modi echoed the Congress party’s slogan, ‘Daro Mat’ (Don’t be afraid), and added his own twist. “They ask everyone ‘Daro Mat’. Today, I also ask them, ‘Daro Mat, Bhago Mat’ (Don’t be afraid, don’t run away),” he said, amidst applause.

These remarks come in the wake of the upcoming elections, adding more heat to the political climate. It remains to be seen how these comments will impact the electoral outcomes.
