PM Narendra Modi Calls for a Shift from Lanterns to LED Bulbs in Bihar

Date:

Bihar, India – In a recent public address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a compelling case for the adoption of LED bulbs in Bihar, a state where many households still rely on traditional lanterns for illumination.

“This is the era of LED bulbs,” Modi declared, emphasizing the need for modern, energy-efficient lighting solutions. He pointed out the irony of people in Bihar “roaming around with a lantern” in an age where advanced lighting technologies are readily available.

The Prime Minister drew a stark contrast between the limited illumination provided by a lantern, which “lights up just one house,” and the widespread brightness that could be achieved through the use of LED bulbs. He argued that the continued reliance on lanterns has “spread darkness all over Bihar,” hindering the state’s progress and development.

Modi’s comments underscore the central government’s commitment to promoting energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. LED bulbs consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent bulbs and have a longer lifespan, making them a more sustainable and cost-effective choice for lighting.

The Prime Minister’s call to action is expected to accelerate the transition to LED lighting in Bihar, contributing to the state’s economic growth and environmental sustainability. It remains to be seen how this initiative will be implemented and what impact it will have on the lives of the people of Bihar.
