Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sets Off for G7 Outreach Summit in Italy

Date:

In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a trip to Italy to participate in the G7 Outreach Summit. This marks his first international journey after assuming office for an unparalleled third consecutive term.

Prime Minister Modi, in his departure statement, expressed his delight that his inaugural state visit in his third term is to Italy, a country with which India shares deep and historic ties. The visit is for the G7 Summit, an event that brings together some of the world’s most powerful economies.

The Prime Minister reminisced about his previous visit to Italy and the reciprocal visits of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to India. These exchanges have been instrumental in significantly strengthening the bilateral relations between India and Italy.

“I am glad that my first visit in the third consecutive term is to Italy for the G-7 Summit,” PM Modi stated. He warmly remembered his participation in the G20 Summit in Italy in 2021, a key event in the global diplomatic calendar.

The two visits of Prime Minister Meloni to India last year have been pivotal in adding momentum and depth to our bilateral agenda. These visits have not only strengthened the strategic partnership between India and Italy but also opened new avenues for cooperation.

“We remain committed to consolidating the India-Italy strategic partnership, and bolstering cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and the Mediterranean regions,” PM Modi affirmed.

This visit is anticipated to further deepen the robust ties between India and Italy, and foster cooperation on global issues among the G7 nations. As the world anticipates the outcomes of this visit, it is set to shape the trajectory of India’s foreign policy in the years to come.
