EAM Jaishankar Calls on Sheikh Hasina, Appreciates Her Guidance for India-Bangladesh Special Partnership

External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S Jaishankar met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her State visit to India. The meeting, held in New Delhi, emphasized the close and abiding ties between the two neighboring countries.

In a tweet, EAM Jaishankar expressed his delight at calling on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina: “Her State visit to India underlines our close and abiding ties. Appreciate her guidance on the further development of our special partnership.”

This visit marks a significant boost to India-Bangladesh relations. Over the years, both nations have forged a multifaceted relationship based on shared history, culture, and geographical proximity. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, these warm ties have expanded further.

The meeting between EAM Jaishankar and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a testament to the strength of this celebrated bilateral partnership. It is the first incoming bilateral State Visit following the formation of the Indian government after the 18th Lok Sabha elections.

During her visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also scheduled to call on President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. The renewed mandate for Prime Minister Hasina underscores her pivotal role in furthering India-Bangladesh cooperation.
