During the interaction, Neeraj Chopra, aiming to defend his title in javelin throw, updated PM Modi on his training progress despite overcoming a recurring injury. “Sir, my training is going as planned. I missed a few tournaments due to the injury, but I am feeling much better now. We have just under a month to finalize preparations,” Chopra informed PM Modi.
Accompanied by Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Sports Raksha Khadse, and Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha, PM Modi provided invaluable guidance and motivation to the contingent comprising nearly 120 athletes from various disciplines.
The interaction also included discussions with key figures in Indian sports such as badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and shooting high-performance director Pierre Beauchamp.
