PM Modi Embarks on Diplomatic Tour to Russia and Austria to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a diplomatic tour to Russia and Austria, aimed at bolstering India’s strategic partnerships with these key European nations. His departure statement highlighted the importance of nurturing relationships with countries that have long-standing ties with India.

“In the coming days, I will be visiting Russia and Austria. These visits present a valuable opportunity to deepen our relations with these nations, which have been built on a foundation of mutual respect and cooperation,” PM Modi remarked, emphasizing the historical significance and strategic importance of these bilateral relationships.

PM Modi expressed eagerness to engage with the Indian diaspora in both Russia and Austria, recognizing their role as cultural ambassadors and contributors to bilateral relations. “I look forward to interacting with the Indian community in Russia and Austria, who have played a crucial role in strengthening ties between our countries,” he stated.

During his visit to Russia, PM Modi is scheduled to hold comprehensive discussions with President Vladimir Putin, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors. “I am eager to review all aspects of our bilateral cooperation with President Putin and explore opportunities for further collaboration,” PM Modi noted.

India and Russia share a Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, marked by significant progress in areas such as defense, energy, trade, investment, science and technology, and cultural exchanges. PM Modi’s visit aims to build on these achievements and deepen mutual understanding and cooperation.

After Russia, PM Modi will visit Austria, marking a historic occasion as the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the country in four decades. “During my visit to Austria, I look forward to meeting President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Karl Nehammer. Austria is a valued partner of India, sharing our commitment to democracy, pluralism, and global peace,” PM Modi affirmed.

The diplomatic tour underscores India’s commitment to strengthening its partnerships with key global players, promoting economic growth, and fostering stability in the region. PM Modi’s engagements in Russia and Austria are expected to pave the way for enhanced cooperation in diverse fields, ensuring mutual prosperity and security in the years ahead.
