Ladakh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has underscored India’s commitment to overcoming challenges and advancing development in Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir. Speaking in Ladakh, Modi highlighted significant strides made in the region since the abrogation of Article 370, which will mark its fifth anniversary on August 5.
“Be it Ladakh or Jammu and Kashmir, India will defeat every challenge that comes in the way of development,” Modi stated, reaffirming the central government’s dedication to fostering progress in these strategically important regions.
Modi emphasized the transformative changes occurring in Jammu & Kashmir, noting that the region is now envisioning a new future and pursuing ambitious goals. He highlighted recent developments, including the rapid growth of the tourism sector and improvements in infrastructure.
“A cinema hall has opened in Kashmir after decades, and for the first time in 35 years, the Tazia procession has been taken out in Srinagar,” Modi pointed out. These developments, he said, signify a broader movement towards peace and harmony in what he described as “our heaven on earth.”
The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect a broader narrative of progress and transformation in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh following the historic changes enacted in August 2019. The focus on infrastructure and cultural revival aims to enhance the quality of life and boost regional development.
