EAM Jaishankar Speaks with US Secretary Marco Rubio, Highlights India’s Measured Response to Terrorism

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar shared an update on a conversation held with US Secretary Marco Rubio, expressing appreciation for the United States’ support in India’s fight against terrorism. In a post on social media, Dr. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two countries in countering terror threats.

“Spoke with US Secretary Marco Rubio this evening. Deeply appreciate US commitment to work with India in the fight against terrorism,” Jaishankar said in his tweet. He also noted that India has responded in a targeted and measured manner to cross-border terrorism.

The minister underlined that while India is committed to taking firm action against terrorism, it will also work to prevent any unnecessary escalation of tensions. “Underlined India’s targeted and measured response to cross-border terrorism. Will firmly counter any attempts at escalation,” he added.

This exchange comes at a time of heightened focus on regional security and reflects the strengthening partnership between India and the United States on strategic and defense matters. The reassurance from the US and India’s firm stance signal a united front in the global effort against terrorism.
