PM Modi Hails Assam’s Growth, Calls It a Key Driver of Atmanirbhar Bharat

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded a highly successful visit to Assam, where he received an overwhelming show of public support and enthusiasm at every stop. Addressing massive gatherings, PM Modi lauded Assam’s rapid development and its vital contribution to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).

The Prime Minister highlighted that Assam is now among the fastest-growing states in India, crediting the BJP’s double-engine government—a strong partnership between the Centre and the state—for driving transformative progress.

“Assam is today playing a key role in the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. Our double-engine government is empowering the state’s rich heritage while giving it a modern identity, making it a state rich in both development and legacy,” Modi said.

He emphasised the government’s focus on combining cultural preservation with modern infrastructure, ensuring that Assam’s traditions thrive alongside advancements in connectivity, industry, and social welfare.

PM Modi’s visit underscored the Centre’s commitment to strengthening the Northeast as a growth engine of India, promising continued investments in infrastructure, education, and employment opportunities to sustain Assam’s upward trajectory.
