Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while laying the foundation stone and inaugurating multiple development projects in Dhar, lauded the achievements of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, calling it a transformative initiative for India’s traditional artisans and craftsmen.

Addressing a large gathering, PM Modi revealed that over 30 lakh artisans and craftsmen across the country have benefited from the scheme so far. He highlighted that the government has extended loans exceeding ₹4,000 crore to skilled workers, enabling them to expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

The Prime Minister explained that the scheme provides comprehensive support, including skill training, access to modern tools, digital marketing assistance, and financial aid, to help artisans upgrade their work and connect with larger markets. By combining India’s rich heritage of craftsmanship with modern technology, the initiative is aimed at turning traditional talent into economic progress.

PM Modi emphasized that the Vishwakarma Scheme is not only an economic program but also a social empowerment mission. “This scheme uplifts underprivileged communities by giving them the resources and recognition they deserve,” he said, adding that the government’s vision is to ensure that artisans become self-reliant contributors to the nation’s growth.

The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to supporting grassroots workers, ensuring that India’s traditional skills continue to thrive in the era of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
