PM Modi Marks Gita Jayanti, Says Bhagavad Gita Is India’s Timeless Gift to the World

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti, reflected on the universal significance and enduring relevance of the Bhagavad Gita. He said that the sacred scripture continues to guide humanity across generations, offering moral clarity, wisdom, and spiritual strength in an ever-changing world.

PM Modi emphasised that the Gita is India’s timeless gift to the world, a text that transcends geography, culture, and time. Its teachings, he said, not only shape the lives of individuals striving for righteousness but also inspire national policies that uphold justice, compassion, and duty. According to him, the principles contained in the Gita serve as a foundation for building a just and harmonious society, encouraging people to act with integrity and selflessness.

Reflecting on Lord Krishna’s divine message to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, the Prime Minister noted that the call to uphold dharma—righteousness—remains as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago. He said that Krishna’s assurance of protecting humanity and standing by those who walk the path of truth continues to offer strength, courage, and guidance to people facing personal, social, or national challenges.

PM Modi added that the Bhagavad Gita is not merely a religious text but a spiritual and philosophical guide, teaching discipline, resilience, and inner equilibrium. Its message encourages individuals to face adversity with calmness, act without attachment to results, and remain committed to their responsibilities.

On Gita Jayanti, the Prime Minister reiterated that India’s civilizational heritage, embodied in texts like the Gita, continues to enrich global thought and promote peace, harmony, and understanding among nations.
