Holi 2026: Ladakh LG Kavinder Gupta Joins Army Jawans in Celebrations, Praises Their Sacrifice

Leh: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Kavinder Gupta celebrated the festival of Holi with the brave jawans of the Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army, extending warm greetings and expressing deep appreciation for their dedicated service to the nation.

The Lieutenant Governor was received by Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding of the 14 Corps, along with Major General Sudhanshu Sharma and other senior Army officials. The celebration reflected the vibrant spirit of Holi, marked by camaraderie, warmth and festive enthusiasm.

Holi Strengthens Bond Between Nation and Armed Forces

Conveying greetings on behalf of the people of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta said that Holi symbolises the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, and the values of unity, harmony and brotherhood.

He acknowledged that while citizens celebrate festivals with their families, soldiers stationed in Ladakh continue to guard the nation under extremely challenging terrain and harsh weather conditions, ensuring peace and security across the country.

Tribute to the Courage and Dedication of Soldiers

During interactions with the jawans, the Lieutenant Governor expressed immense pride in their commitment and bravery in safeguarding India’s borders. He said that celebrating festivals with the armed forces helps strengthen the emotional bond between the nation and its protectors.

Gupta also extended his best wishes to the families of the soldiers and reaffirmed the continued support of the UT administration for the welfare of armed forces personnel, ex-servicemen and their families.

Festival Symbolises Unity and National Strength

Highlighting the deeper significance of the festival, the Lieutenant Governor said that Holi represents not only colours and joy but also renewal, unity and collective strength.

He encouraged citizens to embrace the spirit of togetherness and shared responsibility reflected in the festival and contribute actively to nation-building and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

During the celebration, Kavinder Gupta shared sweets with the jawans and joined them in the festivities, spreading cheer among the troops.

Holi Celebrations at Lok Niwas

Later, the Lieutenant Governor also celebrated Holi with officers and staff at Lok Niwas and the LG Secretariat in Leh.

Extending festive greetings to government officials and employees, he appreciated their dedication in ensuring efficient governance and public service delivery in Ladakh. He urged them to continue working with commitment, teamwork and a spirit of service for the overall development and progress of the Union Territory.
