DC Kargil Reviews Annual Action Plan for Viksit Bharat GRAM-G Programme 2026-27

Kargil, March 16, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Kargil Rakesh Kumar chaired a review meeting to assess the Annual Action Plan under the Viksit Bharat GRAM-G Programme (VB GRAM-G) at the Conference Hall, Baroo.

The meeting focused on finalizing development priorities for the financial year 2026–27.


Officials Present at the Review Meeting

The meeting was attended by key district officials, including:

  • Assistant Commissioner Development
  • Executive Engineers of PWD and PHE
  • Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Kargil
  • Representative from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office
  • Block Development Officers (BDOs) from various blocks

BDOs presented the abstract of the proposed Annual Plan under the convergence framework of VB GRAM-G.


Emphasis on Coordination and Disaster Preparedness

During the meeting, DC Rakesh Kumar stressed the importance of effective inter-departmental coordination while preparing the plan.

He directed departments to include key components such as:

  • Disaster preparedness measures
  • Repair and maintenance of public infrastructure
  • Plantation drives
  • Land development works
  • Rural sanitation initiatives

Focus on Infrastructure and Public Utility Works

The Deputy Commissioner also recommended adding:

  • Snow and debris clearance works
  • Development of school grounds
  • Construction of compound walls

These measures aim to strengthen rural infrastructure and improve public facilities across the district.


Inclusion of Health and Waste Management Components

DC Kargil instructed the representative of the Chief Medical Officer to provide details of health-related facilities so that provisions for:

  • Solid waste management
  • Fencing and ramps
  • Other essential infrastructure

can be incorporated into the final plan.


Deadline Set for Plan Finalization

Rakesh Kumar directed all concerned departments to expedite the process, actively follow up on proposals, and ensure that the Annual Action Plan is finalized by March 25, 2026, for approval.


Strengthening Rural Development in Kargil

The VB GRAM-G programme aims to promote integrated rural development through coordinated efforts across departments, focusing on infrastructure, sustainability, and improved living conditions in rural areas.
