J&K to Witness Fresh Spell of Rain and Snow from March 26, MeT Issues Advisory

Jammu and Kashmir is set to experience another wet spell from March 26, with the Meteorological (MeT) Department forecasting rain and snowfall across several regions.


Light Rain and Snow Likely Till March 28

According to the MeT Department, the Union Territory will witness:

  • Generally cloudy weather from March 26 to 28
  • Light rain or snowfall at a few places, especially during afternoon hours

This comes after multiple spells of rain and snow recorded earlier this month.


Advisory for Moderate Snowfall and Strong Winds

The weather department has issued an advisory warning of:

  • Moderate snowfall in higher reaches
  • Thunder and lightning
  • Gusty winds at several places

These conditions are expected between the night of March 28 and the forenoon of March 31.


Farmers and Travellers Advised to Take Precautions

Authorities have advised:

  • Farmers to suspend agricultural operations on:
    • March 26
    • March 29 to 31
  • Travellers to follow traffic advisories and plan journeys carefully during this period

Caution Amid Changing Weather Conditions

The MeT Department urged residents to remain alert as changing weather conditions may impact:

  • Road connectivity
  • Farming activities
  • Daily movement
