Leh (Ladakh): In a step aimed at improving student mobility, Administrative Secretary of School and Higher Education Bhanu Prabha handed over a Force Traveller vehicle to support students of Government Primary School Basgorong in Chushot.
The vehicle was formally provided by the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Leh, and handed over to local representatives, including Nambardars of the area, to ensure smooth operation and accessibility for students.
Officials said the initiative is designed to address transportation challenges faced by students, particularly in remote areas where distance and terrain often affect school attendance. The availability of the vehicle is expected to ensure safe and convenient commuting, thereby improving regular attendance and learning outcomes.
During the visit, the Secretary also interacted with students and teachers, reviewing key aspects such as enrolment, attendance, and academic progress. She appreciated the efforts of the school staff and encouraged students to stay focused on their education.
Local residents and school representatives expressed gratitude, noting that the vehicle would significantly ease daily travel difficulties for children. The administration reiterated its commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and student support systems across Ladakh.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by the Ladakh administration to ensure inclusive and accessible education, especially in geographically challenging regions.
