PM Modi Boosts Morale of Indian Olympic Contingent Ahead of Paris Games

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently engaged in an inspiring interaction with India’s contingent bound for the Paris Olympics, expressing confidence in their abilities to bring glory to the nation on the international stage.

In a heartfelt exchange with athletes including Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Neeraj Chopra, boxing standout Nikhat Zareen, and badminton ace PV Sindhu, PM Modi conveyed his unwavering support and encouragement. The Prime Minister took to social media platform X to share his sentiments after the interaction, stating, “Interacted with our contingent heading to Paris for the Olympics. I am confident our athletes will give their best and make India proud.”

During the interaction, Neeraj Chopra, aiming to defend his title in javelin throw, updated PM Modi on his training progress despite overcoming a recurring injury. “Sir, my training is going as planned. I missed a few tournaments due to the injury, but I am feeling much better now. We have just under a month to finalize preparations,” Chopra informed PM Modi.

Accompanied by Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Sports Raksha Khadse, and Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha, PM Modi provided invaluable guidance and motivation to the contingent comprising nearly 120 athletes from various disciplines.

The interaction also included discussions with key figures in Indian sports such as badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and shooting high-performance director Pierre Beauchamp. PM Modi shared moments of camaraderie and encouragement with the athletes and support staff, underscoring his belief in their potential to excel at the Paris Olympics.

As India gears up to participate in one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events, PM Modi’s interaction with the Olympic-bound stars reflects his commitment to nurturing talent and promoting sports excellence in the country. His words of encouragement and support are expected to inspire the athletes to give their best and uphold the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians at the Paris Olympics.
