Ladakh Youth Represent UT at IndiaSkills Regional Competition (North) 2025–26

The Union Territory of Ladakh is participating in the IndiaSkills Regional Competition (North) 2025–26, being held in Agra from March 11 to March 14, 2026.

A team of six state qualifiers from Ladakh is representing the Union Territory in three skill categories—Graphic Designing, Fashion Technology, and Beauty Therapy. The competition features participants from nine states and union territories across Northern India, competing in 63 skill trades.

Six Participants Represent Ladakh in Three Skill Trades

The competitors representing Ladakh in the regional event include:

  • Archo Masooma and Fatima Nissa – Graphic Designing
  • Zarina Bano and Hassina Bano – Fashion Technology
  • Masooma and Naziya Kousar – Beauty Therapy

These participants earned their spots after qualifying at the state level.

Pathway to National and Global Competitions

The IndiaSkills Regional Competition serves as a qualifying platform for the IndiaSkills National Competition. Winners from the regional stage will advance to the national competition.

Successful participants at the national level will then get the opportunity to represent India at the WorldSkills Competition 2026, scheduled to be held in Shanghai.

Ladakh Representative Leads Competitors’ Oath

During the inaugural ceremony of the competition, Ladakh received special recognition as a representative from the Union Territory led the oath on behalf of all competitors from the Northern Region.

Boost to Skill Development in Ladakh

The participation of Ladakh’s youth in the competition reflects the growing impact of the Ladakh Skill Development Mission, which is working in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education, Ladakh to promote vocational training and skill excellence among young people.

Officials said these initiatives aim to create national and international opportunities for Ladakh’s youth while encouraging skill-based careers.

UT Administration Focused on Youth Skills and Employment

The administration of the Union Territory, under the guidance of Ashish Kundra, remains committed to expanding skill development opportunities for students and young professionals.

The initiative is expected to help youth build sustainable careers, start enterprises, and contribute to strengthening the economic growth of Ladakh.
