The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has approved an 18 percent increase in fares for all passenger vehicles in the Union Territory.

The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting held in Jammu, chaired by Omar Abdullah.

The proposals approved by the Cabinet will now be sent to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir for final approval.
