Northern Railway Extends Special Train Service to Katra for Chaitra Navratri

Date:

The Northern Railway has decided to extend the operational period of the special reserved train service No. 04081/04082 to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic during Chaitra Navratri.

The decision was taken by the Jammu Railway Division considering the large number of pilgrims expected to travel for Darshan at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.

Officials said the extension will help ensure smooth and comfortable travel for devotees visiting Katra during the festive season.

New Delhi–Katra Special Train Schedule Extended

Train No. 04081, running from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, was earlier scheduled to operate from February 21 to March 8.

The service will now run for an extended period from March 17 to March 30, completing 14 additional trips.

Katra–New Delhi Service Also Extended

Similarly, Train No. 04082, operating from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi, which was earlier scheduled from February 22 to March 9, will now run from March 18 to March 31.

Benefit for Pilgrims and Tourists

Railway officials said the extended train service will significantly benefit:

  • Devotees visiting the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine during Chaitra Navratri
  • Tourists travelling further to Kashmir

The move is expected to ease travel demand and provide better connectivity for pilgrims and tourists during the festive season.
