Leh, March 24: Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Tuesday visited the Hall of Fame in Leh and paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in service of the nation.
Wreath Laid at War Memorial
The Lieutenant Governor laid a wreath at the war memorial, honoring the martyrs who safeguarded India’s borders under extreme and hostile conditions.
He was received by Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 14 Corps.
Tribute to Supreme Sacrifice of Soldiers
Paying homage, Saxena said:
“My heartfelt tributes to the martyrs of the armed forces who laid their lives for the freedom, pride, and dignity of our nation. We owe a debt of gratitude to them and their families.”
He emphasized that the sacrifices of soldiers must always be remembered with respect and gratitude.
Praises Courage of Indian Army
Commending the Indian Army, the Lieutenant Governor noted that soldiers continue to protect the nation’s frontiers in sub-zero temperatures and challenging terrains, setting an example of unmatched dedication and patriotism.
Visit to Hall of Fame Museum
During his visit, Saxena also toured the museum at the Hall of Fame, which highlights the bravery and gallantry of Indian soldiers in major operations such as:
- Operation Meghdoot
- Operation Vijay
