‘Jung sJabs’ Programme Held in Nyoma Village to Strengthen Welfare Outreach in Ladakh

Date:

Nyoma (Ladakh): The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh organised the “Jung sJabs” programme at Nyoma village to enhance public outreach and ensure effective delivery of government welfare schemes at the grassroots level.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader “Administration at Doorstep” campaign, aimed at bringing essential services and awareness directly to remote communities in the region. Nyoma, located in the Leh district, serves as a key administrative hub in southern Ladakh and caters to several far-flung villages.

Focus on Grassroots Service Delivery

During the programme, officials from multiple government departments participated and provided on-the-spot services, awareness sessions, and grievance redressal support to local residents. The camp focused on improving access to schemes related to:

  • Social welfare
  • Health services
  • Revenue and administrative assistance
  • Public grievance resolution

The initiative aims to ensure that people in remote areas receive timely information and benefits without needing to travel long distances.

Enhancing Public Awareness

Authorities emphasised that one of the core objectives of the programme is to increase awareness about government schemes and encourage citizens to actively participate in welfare initiatives. Officials also guided villagers on application procedures, eligibility criteria, and available benefits under various schemes.

Community Participation

The programme witnessed active participation from local residents, who engaged with officials and availed services directly at the camp. Such outreach efforts are particularly significant in regions like Nyoma, where geographical challenges often limit access to administrative services.

Part of Ongoing Outreach Drive

The “Jung sJabs” initiative is being conducted across several villages in the Nyoma subdivision, including Chumathang, Korzok, and Samad Rokchan, as part of a continuous effort to strengthen governance at the grassroots level.

Bigger Impact

Officials said the programme plays a crucial role in:

  • Bridging the gap between administration and citizens
  • Ensuring last-mile delivery of welfare schemes
  • Improving transparency and accountability in governance

The Nyoma camp reflects the administration’s commitment to making governance more accessible, inclusive, and responsive, especially in remote and border areas of Ladakh.

Overall, the “Jung sJabs” programme continues to serve as an effective platform for connecting people with government services, reinforcing the goal of inclusive development in the region.
