Date:

The Government of India has reiterated its commitment to enhancing scholarship support for students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Denotified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT) communities under the PM-YASASVI umbrella scheme. The objective of this scheme is to improve access to quality education and alleviate financial constraints.

Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri B. L. Verma provided this information in a written reply to MP Shri Kamakhya Prasad Tasa in the Lok Sabha. The Minister stated that the objective of this scheme is to alleviate financial constraints and provide quality education to eligible students.

The PM-YASASVI umbrella scheme comprises four key scholarship programs: the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme, the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme, the Top Class Education Scheme for Schools, and the Top Class Education Scheme for Colleges. These initiatives provide financial assistance to students at various stages of education.

The government stated that this scheme focuses on promoting inclusive and equitable education by helping students from disadvantaged communities continue their studies. This scheme is a significant step towards ensuring that socially and educationally backward communities have access to quality education and equal opportunities.
