PM Modi Distributes Appointment Letters to 51,000+ New Government Recruits at 20th Rozgar Mela

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed the appointment letters via video conferencing to more than 51,000 newly recruited youths today at the 20th Rozgar Mela.

The event was organized at 45 locations across the country, with the recruits joining various central government ministries and departments such as Railways, Home Affairs, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, and Revenue and Financial Services.

Startups, Private Jobs and Emerging Opportunities

The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s position as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem. He said the country’s startup story is no longer restricted to major metropolitan areas, with roughly half of recognised startups based in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana, with an outlay of around ₹1 lakh crore, aimed at bringing nearly two crore youth into formal employment. The scheme offers incentives of up to ₹15,000 to eligible first-time employees and incentives to employers creating additional jobs.

Focus on Skills, Jobs and Global Opportunities

The Prime Minister highlighted the need to equip young people with skills suited to a rapidly changing economy. He referred to initiatives such as the National Education Policy, Skill India Mission, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and apprenticeship programmes, along with the PM-SETU initiative for modernising government Industrial Training Institutes and strengthening industry participation.

Modi ji also pointed to India’s expanding international economic partnerships as a source of new opportunities for young people. Referring to the recently concluded BRICS Summit, he highlighted initiatives such as BRICS CONNECT and the BRICS MSME Cooperation Portal, aimed at strengthening links among entrepreneurs, businesses and other groups.

He also stated that free trade agreements with approximately 40 countries are opening up access to new markets and partnerships for Indian businesses, potentially creating additional opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.

PM Modi Urges New Recruits to Put Citizens First

Modi urged the new recruits to promote citizen-centric governance by simplifying procedures, encouraging innovation and removing hurdles for citizens and businesses. He also stressed continuous learning and keeping pace with new technologies to improve public services.

Referring to Mission Karmayogi, Modi highlighted the Karmayogi Prarambh module for new recruits and the iGOT Karmayogi platform, which he said has been joined by more than 1.7 crore government employees.

The Prime Minister stated that the conduct, efficiency, integrity, and sensitivity of government employees determine citizens’ experience with the administration. He urged new recruits to adhere to the principle of “Nagarik Devo Bhava” and emphasized that the ultimate goal of effective public service should be to make the lives of citizens easier.
