New Delhi–Patna Vande Bharat Special to Operate Three Days a Week Until November 17

Date:

To meet the increased passenger demand during the festive season, Indian Railways has notified a Vande Bharat special train service between New Delhi and Patna Junction. The special service, numbered 02252, will commence on October 16, 2026, and operate three days a week until November 17, 2026.

The special train will cover the 996-kilometre distance between New Delhi and Patna in 12 hours and 55 minutes, with an average speed of 77.1 kmph. The return service, numbered 02251, will run from Patna Junction to New Delhi, completing the journey in 13 hours and 30 minutes at an average speed of 73.75 kmph.

The introduction of this special Vande Bharat service is expected to provide much-needed connectivity between the national capital and Bihar’s capital during the festive period, when passenger traffic typically increases. The additional service will offer travellers another rail option for journeys between the two cities.

The special train is part of the railway network’s efforts to accommodate seasonal travel demand and facilitate smoother passenger movement during the festive season.

Passengers are advised to check the official Indian Railways schedule and reservation systems for the train’s operating days, timings, stoppages and ticket availability before planning their journeys.
