Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar, the Northern Army Commander, visited the high altitude forward areas on Monday to review the operational preparedness in the Ladakh sector. This visit comes after Lieutenant General Kumar assumed charge as the general officer commanding-in-chief of the Udhampur-based Northern Command of the Indian Army in February this year.
The Northern Command stated that Lt Gen Kumar visited formations deployed in super high altitude areas of Ladakh to review the operational preparedness and border infrastructure development. The visit aimed at assessing the readiness of the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in maintaining the highest standards of operational effectiveness under challenging conditions.
The Northern Army Commander expressed his appreciation for the relentless efforts of the Indian Army and the ITBP. He commended their dedication and commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders, even in the face of adversity.
