With just days to go for the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas, preparations are in full swing at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Ladakh. The memorial, which commemorates the bravery and sacrifice of India’s soldiers during the 1999 Kargil War, is being adorned for the upcoming solemn observance on July 26.
The memorial stands as a poignant tribute to the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in one of the most challenging battles fought at high altitudes. Each year, Kargil Vijay Diwas is marked with military parades, wreath-laying ceremonies, and public tributes attended by defence officials, veterans, families of martyrs, and civilians.
This year’s event is expected to draw significant attention as India honours the spirit of patriotism and valour that defined the Kargil victory.
