PM Modi Calls for Taking Indian Mythology to Global Gaming Market at Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday emphasised the potential of combining India’s rich cultural heritage with modern technology, particularly the global gaming industry, while addressing the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue in the national capital.

During his interaction with young participants, the Prime Minister referred to a presentation that focused on exporting Indian culture to the world. He highlighted that India possesses a vast treasure of stories and epics such as the Ramayan, Mahabharat, and many other traditional narratives that have global appeal. PM Modi suggested that these timeless stories could be adapted into modern formats to reach international audiences.

Raising the idea of gaming as a powerful medium, the Prime Minister said the gaming industry today represents a major global market and a rapidly growing economy. “Gaming is a major market, a major economy in the world,” he noted, underlining the immense opportunities it offers for innovation, creativity, and employment.

PM Modi proposed that India can develop new games rooted in its mythologies, presenting its cultural values and characters on a global platform. He specifically mentioned Lord Hanuman, saying that such iconic figures have the potential to captivate global audiences. “Lord Hanuman can run the entire world’s gaming,” he said, stressing the universal appeal of Indian mythological characters and stories.

According to the Prime Minister, integrating mythology with gaming would not only help export Indian culture globally but also encourage the use of advanced technology and digital creativity. He said this approach aligns with the vision of a Viksit Bharat, where tradition and technology work together to create new economic and cultural opportunities.

The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue aims to engage young minds in shaping India’s future by encouraging innovative ideas, leadership, and global thinking rooted in Indian values.
