Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz during a joint press meet in Gandhinagar, marking a significant step forward in ties between India and Germany. The meeting reflected the growing strategic depth of bilateral relations and underscored a shared vision for cooperation in economic development, sustainability, and global stability.

Welcoming the German Chancellor, Prime Minister Modi described the visit as an important milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two democracies. He highlighted the steady expansion of cooperation across diverse sectors including trade, manufacturing, green energy, digital innovation, and advanced technologies. The Prime Minister emphasized that Germany remains one of India’s most valued partners in Europe, with strong collaboration driven by trust, innovation, and shared global responsibilities.

Chancellor Merz, in his remarks, praised India’s rapid economic growth and reform-oriented approach. He also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in skill development, vocational training, and technological exchange to build future-ready industries in both nations.

The leaders also exchanged views on global geopolitical developments and emphasized the need to uphold a rules-based international order. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace, stability, and multilateral cooperation in addressing global challenges such as economic uncertainty, supply chain resilience, and security concerns.

Concluding the joint press meet, Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that the discussions would further elevate bilateral relations to new heights.
