CHC Khaltse Conducts Mobile Medical Unit Camp at Village Beema, 72 Patients Receive Specialised Healthcare

Khaltse: The Community Health Centre Khaltse successfully organised a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) camp at Village Beema on February 26, 2026, under the supervision of Block Medical Officer Dr. Shamim Ahmed.

The outreach initiative aimed to deliver specialised healthcare services to residents of the remote village, ensuring access to essential medical consultations, screenings, and laboratory tests.


Specialist Doctors Provide Comprehensive Care

The medical team deployed for the MMU camp included:

  • Dr. Padma Ladol – Gynaecologist
  • Dr. Stanzin Choeying – Dental Surgeon
  • Dr. Stanzin Phunchok – Medical Officer
  • Supporting paramedical staff

The camp provided a range of services including maternal health check-ups, dental consultations, and non-communicable disease (NCD) screenings.


72 Patients Benefited from the Health Camp

A total of 72 patients availed medical services during the one-day camp. The speciality-wise distribution was as follows:

  • Gynaecology: 25 patients, including antenatal check-ups
  • Dental Care: 25 patients, including consultations and extractions
  • NCD Screening: 22 patients screened for diabetes and hypertension

In addition to consultations, the medical team conducted 168 laboratory tests, ensuring timely diagnosis and preventive care.


Strengthening Rural Healthcare Access in Ladakh

The successful completion of the MMU camp underscores CHC Khaltse’s commitment to strengthening healthcare access in remote and underserved areas. Such outreach initiatives play a crucial role in early detection of diseases, maternal healthcare support, and raising awareness about lifestyle-related conditions.

The camp concluded with positive community participation, providing much-needed medical relief to residents of Village Beema and reinforcing efforts toward inclusive rural healthcare delivery.
