Leh (Ladakh): A one-day training programme focusing on sanitation and hygiene was successfully conducted at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Leh, aimed at strengthening awareness and improving public health practices.
The programme brought together participants from various departments and local bodies, highlighting the importance of maintaining cleanliness and adopting proper hygiene measures in daily life.
Officials emphasised key aspects such as waste management, sanitation practices, and personal hygiene, stressing their critical role in preventing diseases and promoting a healthier environment. The training also underlined the need for community participation in maintaining cleanliness standards across the region.
Participants were sensitised about the importance of proper waste segregation, safe disposal methods, and regular sanitation routines, especially in urban and semi-urban areas. The session aimed to build capacity among stakeholders to implement effective hygiene practices at the grassroots level.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the Ladakh administration to strengthen sanitation systems and promote awareness under national cleanliness and public health campaigns.
Officials noted that such training programmes are essential for ensuring sustainable sanitation practices and improving overall quality of life, particularly in environmentally sensitive regions like Ladakh.
