Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Inaugurate 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists in New Delhi

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) on August 3, 2024, at the National Agricultural Science Centre (NASC) Complex in New Delhi. The inauguration will commence at 9:30 AM, followed by an address from the Prime Minister.

The triennial conference, organized by the International Association of Agricultural Economists, will take place from August 2 to August 7, 2024. This year’s ICAE marks a significant milestone as it returns to India after a span of 65 years.

The theme for ICAE 2024, “Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems,” will focus on addressing the urgent need for sustainable agricultural practices in the face of global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, increasing production costs, and regional conflicts. The conference aims to emphasize India’s proactive stance on these global agricultural issues and showcase the country’s advancements in agricultural research and policy.

The event is expected to draw approximately 1,000 delegates from around 75 countries, providing a robust platform for young researchers and leading professionals to present their findings and connect with international peers. The conference will also foster collaboration between research institutions and universities, influence policy-making at both national and global levels, and highlight India’s progress in areas like digital agriculture and sustainable agri-food systems.

ICAE 2024 promises to be a pivotal event in the agricultural sector, reflecting India’s growing role in addressing global agricultural challenges and showcasing innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
