Date:

Kargil, April 15, 2026: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena addressed newly appointed government employees at a Rozgar Mela in Kargil, emphasising the importance of integrity, dedication, and service to the nation.

Appointment Letters Distributed to New Recruits

During the event, the LG handed over appointment letters to around 200 newly selected government employees, marking a significant step in strengthening public administration in the Union Territory.

He congratulated the candidates and their families, acknowledging their hard work and support in achieving this milestone.

“Government Job is a Responsibility, Not Just Employment”

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted that a government job is not merely a source of income but a responsibility towards society and the nation.

He urged the appointees to:

  • Serve with honesty and commitment
  • Uphold transparency and accountability
  • Focus on improving the lives of the weaker sections of society

Call for Dedication and Positive Change

The LG stressed that only a few individuals secure government jobs despite many aspiring for them, and therefore, the opportunity should be used to bring positive change in governance and society.

He encouraged employees to set an example and work towards improving public perception of government institutions.

Recruitment Drive and Future Opportunities

Highlighting ongoing employment initiatives, the administration informed that:

  • Recruitment for over 1,300 posts has been initiated
  • Several appointments have already been made across departments
  • More vacancies, including police, teaching, and non-gazetted posts, will be filled soon

Efforts are also underway to simplify recruitment processes and ensure transparency.

Focus on Efficient and Transparent Governance

The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the administration’s commitment to fast-tracking recruitment and improving governance systems, ensuring better service delivery to citizens across Ladakh.
