Piyush Goyal Discusses New Opportunities for India-US Trade With Industry Executives

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal met with over 50 prominent business and industry leaders at a meeting organized by the Consulate General of India in New York, where discussions focused on strengthening India-US trade, investment, innovation, and supply chains.

In a post on the social media platform X, Goyal stated, “Interacted with over 50 prominent business and industry leaders at a roundtable meeting organized by the Consulate General of India in New York, in collaboration with the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum.”

He further added in the X post, “This meeting highlighted India’s robust growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, its reform-driven business environment, and the growing opportunities available to global investors. Ways to further deepen trade, investment, innovation, and supply-chain partnerships between India and the US were discussed with the aim of achieving shared prosperity.”

Earlier, during his visit to Canada, Goyal extended an invitation to business leaders to invest in India. Addressing an event in Toronto, Canada—in the presence of International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu—Piyush Goyal spoke about India’s continuous efforts to facilitate ease of doing business and create an investor-friendly environment. He invited Canadian business and industry leaders to become active partners in India’s growth story.

Goyal emphasized how the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) would serve as a key catalyst in enhancing trade and investment relations, while simultaneously opening up new avenues for cooperation across various sectors.

The Union Commerce Minister further expressed his confidence that the next chapter of the India-Canada economic partnership would be driven by trust, thereby contributing to the prosperity of both nations.
