Credit Outreach Workshops for MSMEs and SHGs Organised in Leh Under RAMP Programme

A series of workshops titled “LA-12: Workshop with Bankers for Increasing Outreach Lead” were successfully conducted in Leh under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

The workshops aimed to enhance awareness and improve access to institutional credit for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Self-Help Group (SHG) members in the Union Territory of Ladakh.

Entrepreneurs and Bankers Participate in Workshop

The programmes were organised at the Conference Hall of the District Industries Centre (DIC) Leh, bringing together entrepreneurs, banking professionals, and government officials to strengthen credit linkages and financial awareness.

Around 30 entrepreneurs and SHG members from sectors such as food processing, pashmina, handicrafts, and handloom participated in the workshop.

Experts Provide Guidance on MSME Credit Schemes

The workshop featured expert sessions from representatives of key financial institutions and government departments. The resource persons included:

  • Stanzin Dolker, Lead District Manager
  • Tsewang Tamchos, Manager at State Bank of India
  • Tsewang Dorjey, Assistant General Manager at National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)
  • Stanzen Paksang, Senior Manager, SIDCO
  • K. Isfindyar Khan, Inspector at the State Taxes Department (GST Office)
  • Asiya Tabassum, District Programme Manager at Ladakh Rural Livelihoods Mission

Sessions on MSME Loans, GST and Government Schemes

During the workshop, experts delivered detailed sessions on MSME loan schemes, credit facilitation, documentation requirements, and procedures for accessing institutional finance.

Participants were also guided on Udyam Registration, GST compliance, and government support schemes such as:

  • Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
  • Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME)
  • Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme

Direct Interaction Between Bankers and Entrepreneurs

The workshop provided a valuable platform for direct interaction between bankers and entrepreneurs, enabling participants to clarify queries related to loan eligibility, working capital requirements, and financial management practices needed for expanding their businesses.

Officials also emphasized the importance of digital transactions, proper bookkeeping, and financial discipline for MSMEs to improve their creditworthiness.

Initiative to Strengthen MSME Growth in Ladakh

Officials noted that such initiatives are crucial for improving credit absorption capacity, strengthening financial inclusion, and supporting the growth of local enterprises in Ladakh.

The workshops are expected to result in increased MSME loan applications, better financial preparedness among entrepreneurs, and stronger collaboration between financial institutions and business owners in the region.

The programme is part of the approved activities for FY 2025–26 under the RAMP Programme, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness, sustainability, and growth of MSMEs in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
