Date:

Nyoma (Ladakh), April 2026: The ‘Jung sJabs’ Programme, aimed at strengthening grassroots governance and welfare delivery, was successfully conducted at Chumathang village under Nyoma subdivision.

Bringing Governance to Doorstep

The programme was organised under the “Administrative at Doorstep” initiative, chaired by Naib Tehsildar Tashi Chhostak. It focused on enhancing public outreach and ensuring effective delivery of government schemes directly to rural communities.

Awareness and On-the-Spot Services

During the camp:

  • Officials from multiple departments participated
  • Residents were provided on-the-spot services and guidance
  • Awareness sessions were held on various government welfare schemes

The initiative helped bridge the gap between administration and citizens in remote areas.

Strong Participation from Villagers

The programme witnessed active participation from local residents, who benefited from the services, information, and direct interaction with officials.

Villagers were able to raise concerns, seek clarifications, and access government services without needing to travel long distances.

Focus on Grassroots Development

The ‘Jung sJabs’ initiative reflects the Ladakh administration’s commitment to:

  • Strengthening last-mile service delivery
  • Improving awareness of welfare schemes
  • Ensuring inclusive development in remote regions

Strengthening Citizen-Government Connect

By taking governance directly to villages, the programme plays a key role in building trust, improving accessibility, and enhancing efficiency in public service delivery across Ladakh.
